When it comes to Advent Calendars, I’m somewhat of a traditionalist. I have always had a Chocolate advent calendar in my home, even before I became a parent. The idea of opening up a suprise each of the days in December leading up to Christmas is simply part of the holiday traditions that make Christmas so magical.

Non-Chocolate Advent Calendar Idea

In the UK I’ve found that there are even more options than back in Canada. I’ve seen everything from Cheese, to Cereal. There are so many options nowadays for amazing calendars, however not all of them are exactly Kid Friendly. Seems like every company is coming out with an Advent calendar – and I couldn’t be more happy about it. Especially high quality candy / chocolates / sweets.

I’ve been a fan of Jelly Belly for about two decades – I go into that more in my Video Review of their 2019 Advent Calendar.

Overall, I had a blast with this advent calendar and opening it with Lydia was great. It was one of a very few that I would say that would be more fun opening day by day instead of all at once, because there was so much candy, honestly, we’re still working through it a week later. All of the flavours (even the ones we didn’t like) were up to the high standards and quality you’d expect of Jelly Belly.

As I said in my video review, I very much enjoy that they put the thought into adding some Christmas themed candies alongside the classic (such as my personal favourite, Buttered Popcorn). Some of the best holiday themed flavours that are available within the calendar also come in a separate American Holiday Favorites package. We’re holding a giveaway for a package of the American Holiday Favorites on our  video review on YouTube, so head on over to find out more!

If you’re looking for a sweet alternative to Chocolate this year, I highly recommend the Jelly Belly Advent Calendar (UK: buy it on Amazon for £13.99) or if you’re feeling a bit more adventitious, why not check out the BeanBoozled Advent Calendar (UK on Amazon £16.99).
