One of the best ways to celebrate the Holidays, and most common days out during the Christmas Season is to go see a Christmas Show, Play or Concert. I’ve seen quite a few Christmas Musicals, and even been to New York to see a few on Broadway, and I have to say nothing quite gets you in the spirit like hearing amazing music, or watching a festive play.

Here I’ve put together a list of some of the BEST Concerts, plays and Musicals that are available this year. There’s something for everyone – and fun for the whole family. I’ve tried to include as many touring shows as possible so that there’s a wide range of options all across the states. But some things are just worth the travel, such as #1 on our list:

#1 Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York City

Get your Tickets for: Radio City Christmas Spectacular

The Ultimate Christmas Show – a must-see for any Christmas Fan. The world-famous Rockettes’ annual celebration of Christmas goes on sale in August of every year – there are up to five shows a day to accommodate the demand for these high-kicking numbers. On until January only in New York City.

#2 Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Get your Tickets for: The Trans-Siberian Orchestra

If you haven’t heard the name, you’re definitely familiar with the music. Rock-Opera-Meets-Christmas is a good way to describe their most famous albums. They’re one of the most successful touring bands in the world, having been on tour every winter for nearly 20 years and selling-out most venues. Their shows always include loads of lights, lasers, pyrotechnics and sometimes even fireworks. They’re 2018 tour is on now – all across the country.

#3 Elf, The Musical

Get your Tickets for: Elf, The Musical

If you love the movie Elf (and come on now, who doesn’t) you should check out this Musical Adaptation. I had the pleasure of seeing it in New York several years ago and enjoyed it very much. The same could not be said for the Grinch Musical. If you want to read more of a review then check out our article Buddy the Elf: From Screen to Stage. Or, just head out with the family to spread the holiday cheer across lots of different venues and productions!

#4 A Charlie Brown Christmas Live

Get your Tickets for: A Charlie Brown Christmas Live

The vintage classic tale comes to life in this all-new production of A Charlie Brown Christmas – all your favourite Characters (including Snoopy). From what I’ve seen on various social photos and previews, it might be a low-budget production – but it’s geared at kids and the tickets are inexpensive so it might make for a quick and easy family day out on tour.

#5 A Christmas Story Musical

Get your Tickets for: A Christmas Story Musical

Another production I had the pleasure of seeing on Broadway. I was a bit sceptical as I didn’t think it would lend itself as easily as Elf to being adapted to a Musical, but it is actually quite good. I wish they’d put out a DVD as this would make a wonderful replacement to the Original (which I’m not a huge fan of). See it Live with the whole family in cities across the country.

#6 LeAnn Rimes

Get your Tickets for: LeAnn Rimes in Concert

If you’re a fan of Country Crossover legend Leann Rimes, then this year is probably the best to try and catch her in Concert. She’s on tour along the west coast to promote not only her New Hallmark Movie, but also the soundtrack that goes along with it. Expect plenty of traditional Christmas songs along with brand new ones.

#7 The Nutcracker

Get your Tickets for: The Nutcracker (Nationwide)

A Christmas tradition for many already. The amazing music is so familiar a soundtrack to our winter daily lives already, the various productions of The Nutracker in most major cities gives us a reason to dress up and go out to the Ballet. If you want to have an evening filled with joy and wonder, go see a production of The Nutcracker near you.

#8 White Christmas Song-A-Long

Get your Tickets for: White Christmas Sing-a-long

If you happen to be in Los Angeles, then there’s no better event than a Sing-a-Long version of the Classic Christmas film, White Christmas. One of my favourite films, and one of the best nostalgic movies of the 20th century – sing along with Bing Crosby, and more.
