Best ways to Decorate your Kitchen for Christmas
I often like to tackle decorating a room of the house that doesn’t get as much attention for Christmas Decorating. Like our Tips for Decorating your Bedroom at Christmas, I’ve decided to take on the next most-neglected room in the house (besides the bathroom, but don’t rule it out) – the Kitchen.
It’s a bit ironic that the kitchen can often be overlooked for festive decorating, considering that the kitchen can be the hub of family activity over the holidays. Between baking festive goodies, or family meals – you might even spent more time here than you think. While the smells and tastes of the season fill the air – most people do little more than maybe put out a festive tea-towel or two. But if you put your mind to it, there’s so much more you can do to spruce up (pun intended) your kitchen for Christmas.
Decorating your Fridge
Lets start with the basics. You’ve got to do something about that fridge. Either you have a small UK-style fridge, or a big American Fridge one way to make it more festive is to simply adorn it with festive drawings. If you have little ones, ask them to draw you some gingerbread houses, elves and Christmas Trees.
Another idea could be to start your own Christmas fridge magnet collection. This can not only be a fun decorating tip, but also a new hobby. Like collecting baubles on Vacation, there’s a huge range of Christmas Fridge Magnets from the major tourist destinations in the world. Of course, you could just pick a theme and buy sets of fridge magnets online too.

One more idea for the fridge: Dress it up! There are lots of fun window decals that will usually stick to fridges as well. You can add some snowflakes or Santa figures.

Decorate your Counter Top
There are a few really easy ways to decorate your counter top, even if you don’t have much space. Try putting out some festive mugs, or candles. If you have the room – try for a garland. Small Christmas figures can work really well as well.
Decorating the Rest
There are so many different more options for the rest of your kitchen decorations. Here are few more tips:
- If you have windows, try small wreaths on each.
- Twinkle Lights top of the cupboards.
- Matching Towels, Oven Mitts, and Napkins.
- Set up a Bowl of Baubles.
- Wrap your Cupboard in Bows.
Last but not least:
The Kitchen Christmas Tree
It might be bold, but I say go for it. If you’re going to start thinking about really making the Kitchen a more festive place, then you should probably consider getting yourself a Christmas Tree for the kitchen. It could be a small counter top tree or a full sized tree – but either way, it would make the room perfectly ready for the holidays.
