Christmas movies are lovely for any time of the year, but take on an exceptional value in the winter. With heart-warming scenes and happy endings, they are great for when you settle down on the couch with your loved ones. In this list, we will bring to you a few old favourites and a couple of new films that you can enjoy with your family and friends.

Little Women

This 1994 movie based on the famous children’s book by Louisa May Alcott tells the story of the March sisters. The story begins with the four wildly different sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy at home while their father is away fighting in the American Civil War.

They write and act in a little home-made play for Christmas and carry out kind gestures such as giving away their Christmas breakfast to a family living in poverty. It is directed by Gillian Armstrong and starred Winona Ryder and Christian Bale in the lead roles.

The book was also made into a pretty successful movie in 2019 with Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson and Timothée Chalamet playing the main characters. Both these movies are excellent if you desire to watch a homely, coming of age movie with a fair amount of historical context.

Jingle All the Way

This comedy movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger came out in the year 1996. The film is based on the well-known issue of toys selling out pretty quickly right before Christmas and parents struggling to find gifts. The movie portrays two fathers who are both trying to find a Turbo-man figure for their sons. Schwarzenegger plays the role of a busy father who is unable to devote enough time for his family.
He forgets to buy his son the action figure until Christmas Eve arrives. He goes out to get the toy at the last minute and realizes that it has been sold out everywhere. The rest of the movies shows the desperate measures taken by this father to acquire the toy.

Home Alone

Home Alone does not need an introduction. This fantastic family movie has been popular since it was first released and is still enjoyed by people of all ages. Chris Columbus directed the first of this popular film series that was released in 1990.

It stars Macaulay Culkin as a young boy named Kevin. The extended family leaves to spend their Christmas in Paris, and Kevin is accidentally left behind on his own. Kevin initially enjoys his newfound freedom thoroughly but prepares himself when he realizes that a couple of burglars is targeting his house.

Ocean’s 11

If you desire to take a break from all the Christmas Spirit, you could turn to a fun little heist movie such as Ocean’s 11. The movie came out in 2001 and was directed by Steven Soderbergh. It stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and other significant names in the film industry as a group of con-artists.

These people get together and draw up a plan to rob from three major casinos. If you have been gambling at a trusted online casino malaysia and would love to see some good action in real casinos, pick this movie.

Holidate

It stars Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey as two single individuals who decide to be each other’s “holidate” to prevent all the judgements they receive from the family and society. They become friends who get together on holidays and pretend to be each other’s dates. You know where this romantic comedy is going.
