Deck the halls, grab a mince pie and cosy up with the whole family to watch these Netflix Christmas movies!

The streaming service seems to have made even more Christmas specials than ever this year, and is offering access to a range of festive classics too!

There’s a huge variety of family-friendly Christmas content on Netflix for 2019, from animated feature-length movies to cutesy holiday rom-coms.

Check out this list of brand new festive Netflix movies, plus some oldies but goodies being streamed on Netflix over the festive season.

New Netflix Christmas Movies for 2019

The Knight Before Christmas – A 14th Century English knight travels through time to modern-modern-day Ohio where he meets Vanessa Hudgens! Hudgens plays a high school science teacher who has given up on finding true love.

The chemistry between the two is adorable, and there are plenty of laughs and holiday joy for the entire family to enjoy.

Holiday Into the Wild – Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis stars alongside Rob Lowe in this adorable romantic comedy.

Davis plays Kate, an empty-nester whose husband has dropped a divorce bombshell on her just as she was planning a second honeymoon in Africa. She embarks on the journey solo, only to fall in love with the wildlife, the people and a flirtatious tour guide played by Lowe.

Kids will watch it for the beautiful animals. Mums will watch it for Rob Lowe!

Klaus – The Christmas spirit is well and truly alive in this animated comedy! This movie is perfect for watching with younger children.

The story sees a friendship grow between reclusive toy maker Klaus and selfish postman Jesper, who have been rivals for years.

They team up to deliver joy to a cold, dark town that desperately needs it.

Santa Girl – A Christmas movie about a member of the Klaus family who has never taken the spotlight before!

Santa Girls sees Santa’s daughter run away from home and an arranged marriage. She embarks on an adventure away from the family business and decides to go to college. It’s a goofy concept, but it will warm your heart!

A Christmas Prince: Royal Baby – This is the third year in a row that Netflix has released A Christmas Prince movie. It’s unsurprising since the first Christmas Prince film in 2017 was a huge hit for the streaming service!

In the third film, Queen Amber is expecting her first baby with husband King Richard. But before the royal baby arrives in time for Christmas, Amber must save her family and kingdom by solving a mystery in the monarchy’s past.

Oldies but goodies

The Christmas Chronicles – This movie, released by Netflix last year, sees Kurt Russell grow an impressive beard to play Father Christmas.

Siblings Kate and Teddy Pierce try to capture Santa on Christmas Eve to prove he exists. But when their plot causes Santa to crash, the kids must help Saint Nick save Christmas.

Dreamworks Holiday Classics – Your children’s favourite characters from Dreamworks films come together in four holiday specials rolled into one fabulous festive movie!

You’ll find Shrek and donkey, Hiccup and Toothless and the wacky animals from Madagascar in brand new adventures set in the festive season.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas – It’s nearly 20 years old, but Jim Carrey’s potrayal of The Grinch remains as entertaining as ever.

In the Christmas classic based on the Dr Seuss book, The Grinch is a bitter, cave-dwelling creature who hates Christmas and sets about ruing it for the people of Whoville.

Happy Holidays from Madagascar – The animals of Madagascar go wild for Christmas in this holiday special! Expect laughs and lots of fun.

This is a relatively short film of less than an hour, so it’s ideal for younger children.

A Storybots Christmas – The adorable animated series about a group of robots looking for answers to tricky questions from kids gets a Christmas special of its own!

In this episode the storybots discover the true meaning of Christmas, after Bo worries that none of her friends like her Christmas presents. The movie includes a special appearance by Ed Asner as Santa Claus, who received an Emmy nomination for the role!

Arthur Christmas – Featuring the voices of James McCoy and Hugh Laurie, Arthur Christmas is Santa’s son! He’s entrusted to carry out an extremely important festive mission, but can he do it?

The film received rave reviews when it was released back in 2011, and it remains a wonderful festive film to enjoy with your family. [Note from Chantelle: One of my personal favourites, and also on our list of Best Animated Christmas Movies for Kids!]
