Jamaican Cherry Ginger Bread

Recipe for an electric bread machine
- 2 (8-ounce) packages crescent rolls
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 to 2 teaspoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 (10-ounce) jar maraschino cherries
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- Place yeast in appropriate dispenser of bread machine.
Add ginger, bread flour, lime peel and salt to the bread
machine in the order suggested by manufacturer's manual.
Combine brown sugar, milk, lime juice and melted butter;
pour over dry ingredients. Set on correct cycle for machine.
- Add coconut and cherries at the end of the first kneading
or when buzzer sounds. Serve at room temperature.
Note: To toast coconut: Spread coconut in an ungreased
pan. Bake in a preheated 350° F oven 5 to 7 minutes, stirring
occasionally, or until golden brown.
Makes 1 loaf, about 16 slices.
