Thank you Bob - I am told it is worth quite a bit of money but it will stay in the family. I just love it and even tho I have remarried it brings back so many pleasant memories of Christmases with my late husbandI really need to scan in the picture of the year that our cat managed to find her place in the scene and didn't knock any of the wisemen down - it was so precious - a true Kodak moment

Yes, it's carved from wood and if I ever give it away, our youngest daughter wants it. That's the one she remembers from her childhood. It was made in Taiwan but looks a lot like the German one at this link:
