I don't think I ever read all of it either! I started memorizing, then got curious and when I saw how many pages there were(I had a very old book), I gave up. But every December that we didn't live in Florida, I'd recite the part I knew. I was still doing that after I got married and had children! I especially liked to say it when the December sky was gray.
