There is an extremely large park - Harriman State Park - only a few blocks from my house. A man who admitedly killed his daughter-in-law has been loose in this park for over a week. The police can not track him down, so it's a little scary around here!
The park itself has an interesting background. The land bordered on the Harriman Estate. The Harriman's bought out the land during the depression to form the park. The land consisted of 7 small villages; old housing foundations can still be seen. The park has 7 lakes and many caves. The Harrimans then donated the prk to NYS.
The suspect is a great outdoorsman and knows the park like the back of his hand - but he is 75, diabetic, and a recent heart attack victim. Let's hope they bring him to justice soon.
