Talking The Top 7 Hangover Cures That Work

    • Almost every grown adult has experienced it at least one time in their life - the throbbing headache, room spinning, groggy, nauseating, loss of all bodily functions feeling of a morning hangover. It's the price everyone must pay for the overindulgence of libations on a night of inebriated glory. So what can you do to get rid of this self-inflicted pain and misery caused by having a little too much alcohol to drink? Numerous cures have been passed from one barstool to the next, all with enough founded evidence to confirm they are nothing more than urban myths. If you're looking for something of sound proof, or at least makes a little more sense, try these hangover cures that actually work
    1. Water

One of the best tools to fight a hangover is to drink plenty of water. Many nutritionists suggest that a person should drink a glass of water for every serving of alcohol they consume. This helps to dilute the alcohol and reduce the level of toxins in your body. Water is also important for rehydrating your body, since one of the effects of drinking alcohol is dehydration, which can be one of the causes of a throbbing headache.
    2. Milk Thistle

Not to be confused with the dairy product, milk thistle is a type of plant known for its ability to reduce toxins in the body. Its powers as an antioxidant come from the active ingredient silymarin, which is found in milk thistle seeds. Milk thistle is primarily consumed in supplement form, and can be used to treat various ailments aside from hangovers like heartburn or gallbladder problems.
    3. Sports Drinks

If you're suffering from a hangover, it's important to replace any lost electrolytes with a good sports drink. During the process of excessive drinking, you are also expelling important electrolytes, like potassium, from your body in your urine. These electrolytes are necessary for proper cell function, and can easily be replenished with sports drinks that can also rehydrate you.
    4. Fresh Fruits And Vegetables

When you consider how much damage alcohol can do to the body, especially when ingested in excessive amounts, it should be no surprise that fresh fruits and vegetables can help with your hangover woes. The numerous vitamins and minerals like vitamin C and potassium can help boost your bodily function and energy levels. They also work well for replenishing and repairing the damage caused by alcohol, with some fruits even providing electrolytes like bananas and coconuts. Another great thing about fruits and vegetables is they are relatively easy to digest.
    5. NSAIDs

While non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin are frequently used to relieve hangover headaches, they should be used with caution after excessive drinking. Consult a physician before taking any NSAIDs to cure a hangover.
    6. Take A Bath Or Shower

Although it may not help with the pain you feel internally, a nice bath or a shower can help alleviate certain discomforts associated with hangovers. For one thing, it can help wash off the odor of alcohol on your body. One whiff of whatever it was you consumed from the night before can easily make you hurl. A shower can also help relax tense muscles, open up your pores and help your overall circulation, not to mention it just feels nice after a rough night.
    7. Sleep

One way to get your mind off of your hangover is to put yourself back to sleep. Although it works well for inducing sleep, alcohol rarely allows a person to get a full night's rest. Forcing yourself to go back to sleep after waking up to a hangover might be a difficult task, but it's necessary to forego the pain you'll experience as you wait for the effects of the hangover to wear off

Mixing an oral rehydration mix in your water will help replace any minerals that your body loses while coping with the alcohol poisoning.
