Question Is there such a thing as "Christmas in July"?

... or is it a strictly commercial phenomenon?

Do any of you have any Christmas in July celebrations? I'm curious if it has expanded beyond its original advertising purposes and turned into anything special.

Christms in July is really just a commercial thing. Hallmark introduces its new ornaments and QVC has some special shows. It does get things cranked up though, and gets me plnning!

Retail seems to becoming more interested in Christmas in July, I see more and more promotion for it, sales and such. A few stores decorate and offer cookies and play Christmas music

Usually I only start to feel festive from mid-september, the cooler, crisper mornings, clearer blue skies and the turning of the leaves are my cues.
So let the raucous sleigh bells jingle,
Hail our dear old friend kris kringle,
Driving his reindeer across the sky.
Don't stand underneath when they fly by.

It started as a commercial thing but now there are Christmas shows on TV to celebrate the event! Only 19 days left!!
