Excuse me...but it's a new year's bread/cake with a coin in it. Who ever gets the piece with the coin is considered to have good luck through out the new year.

Excuse me...but no. You don't use a penny you use a coin the size of a quarter (at least).

The Vasilopita is a Beautiful Tradition, and a custom which should not be neglected by Greek Orthodox Christians as should perhaps be adopted by all Christians in the Western world.
