I thought Id start a thread where we can all share our non Christmas photos..
Hope this will be useful to all.

Every September, the Prime Minister of Greece visits Thessaloniki (the city I live) in order to inaugurate the city's International Fair and to give a speech on the economic policy of the government for the following year.



Due to the recent austerity measures (extra taxation, privatization of public companies etc.) imposed by the government due to the loan taken from the IMF and the EU, social unrest is evident throughout Greece.



A police force of about 5000 was employed in Thessaloniki in order to protect the Prime Minister and the government, and to quench any violent outbreaks. Although the protest was massive, it was much less violent than previous ones.



I was there and these pictures (not very good, I know) are from my mobile phone..

This was one of the most peaceful demonstrations, we were all thinking of the worst, as, things here (Greece), are not good at all and most people!!!!!!! do not have a simple job, so can not make it for a leaving, at all.
