Are you having a turkey this christmas?

I doubt if I will. I saw what is called a 'turkey saddle' in other words a turkey breast in Tesco and it was £30! Yes, thirty of your English Pounds for not even the entire bird! And you can bet turkeys will be at even more eye-watering prices in Waitrose and Marks and Spencer.

I think I'll wait and see if the price goes down (a lot!) or wait closer to The Day to see what lands on my lawn...
So let the raucous sleigh bells jingle,
Hail our dear old friend kris kringle,
Driving his reindeer across the sky.
Don't stand underneath when they fly by.

Without a doubt we'll be having a turkey for christmas. Expensive or not, it wouldn't be christmas without one

Though how recently has the eating of turkey become a part of the tradition of Christmas? I know in days of old that goose, or even swan in the case of the nobility, was the bird to eat on christmas day.
