Microwave Fudge Grainy?

Why did our microwave fudge turn out grainy? Do you have to heat it longer?

I've found that stirring the fudge while it too hot makes it grainy, now I let it cool until 110° F and then stir it. Never had grainy fudge doing it that way. There is lots of info about this online, the key to great fudge is more complicated than one would think
