Mincemeat-Filled Cookies

My husband's family made their own and they did it the old-fashioned way with real meat (they used venison).

Buy the tiny cookie cutters and make the opening star-shaped or whatever. The cookie top and bottom would be round. The filling goes in the middle and you seal the edges with a fork. Or try this, but you might need to seal the edges:
