We are wiring the house and I am thinking of getting the electrician to put an outlet in the ceiling by the dining rm light. I have lighted garland in mind. This is the only hanging light I have, cause I don't like to clean them. Pease give me your opinion.

If the outlet is sort of hidden, I cant see why not. I'm sure you don't want the outlet to turn in to the focal point of the room. You can also get battery operated lighted garland.
I wouldn't do it because it will look terrible the rest of the year. But I would have more outside outlets if we were building our house today.Quote:

As long as the drain on the fuse won't be much it shouldn't be a problem to have it installed. Much cheaper now than later!
Maybe you could cover it up somehow as others have suggested, but I couldn't see it as a focal point for anyone!

My electrician [son] wouldn't do it. So hubby took his side. I told him 'fine as long as he doen't mind hearing about it over the next twenty years -- and he will, believe me.
