I don't use it anymore, but I always did it strand by strand. What I don't like about it is that it has no weight and seldom hangs straight down like an icicle would. :sad elf: In the fifties, the tinsel was weighted with lead and only came in silver color and we could make it hang straight down. It looked like icicles dripping off the branches. Oh, well. Last year I used glass icicles.

Now I gather from the posts I have already looked at, your tinsel is different from what we call tinsel. Our is on long garlands, with short pieces of tinsel. and I put it on very carefully.

If you live in one place all your life, you seldom realize that a soda is a pop is a coke or a soft drink; or that a soda can mean there is ice cream in it. And garland is garland and then there's tinsel garland or tinsel is short for tinsel garland. Oh, my head....:dizzy: Or you can drive through a state and they call you a foreigner even though you are from the United States!

What are the long strands called that you separate and hang one at a time?

Don't use it anymore but did it strand by strand. My kids never wanted to help because they wanted to throw it on the tree.
