Today when everybody is so busy.. we should also try to think on what is the real purpose of Christmas. Is this only a festival for shopping, entertainment and other recreational activities or something else?

It's indeed a bit sad, Christmas is now very commercial. As years go by, I feel that I think more and more about people who are no longer with us to celebrate Xmas. We should also think more about people who are lonely, or ill...

Great thoughts to the both of you! My wife just lost her last living grandfather and I know we will all be thinking of him around the holidays this year...

and yes and also think of the less fortunate children and or families. I, living in the Phil were poverty is everywhere, these "less fortunate" people are alwayts on my mind, if only i am rich enough to share to all of them. I am glad as this year i ws able to convince my officemates to do a "feeding activity" and to collect funds we will be carolling to rich people and the amounts we can collect will be the funds we will use to be able to give these "families" a decent christmas dinner even for once..and i cant wait :) as this is one of my pledged acitivites for this christmas

I would guess this could also be posted under traditions. but each year me and my mom try to buy gifts for a less fortunate family. We haven't really talked about it yet this year but I know we will do it for someone local. Maybe even pick a couple of kids off the angel tree. I pray all will do something nice for another family this holiday season.
