I've been debating on whether or not to start a thread like this because I know once I do I'll be rambling on about all kinds of nonesense and I don't want you all to get sick of me. :santahat: But, I figured I'll try it out and see how you all like it. This is the place for you to post any kind of random thoughts you are having. They can be Christmas-related or completely out there; whatever it on your mind. You can reply to others or just read what's going on. I'll be more than happy to get us started. :kinky elf:

Which avatar do you all like better for my Christmas look?

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/5413/nightmarebeforechristmaqu3.png (http://www.imagehosting.com/) or http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/194/nightmarebeforechristmalr8.png (http://www.imagehosting.com/)

I'm sure I'll change it before Christmas because I get tired of the same "look", but for now which one should I use?

i luv christmas best

Is it okay if I post some random thoughts here, too? I'm so bored...

I hate being sick. I had to take a day off from work, and I lost a lot of money on that:sad elf: Not good with all the Christmas shopping I have planned. (Lol, I've already bought like 8 presents, and I only have 3 people to give to. Yet I feel like I'm so far behind:santahat:)

Right now, I'm debating with myself if I should put Christmas music on my Mp3, or if I should wait a couple of weeks. :singing: What do you think, Bob?

isn't that a wonderful Christmassy feeling to have all your decorations up and looking forward to getting your tree soon? Some years ago, we used to go to a tree farm and cut our own; what fun! But I have not been able to do that for years. When I relocated a few years ago, I bought a nice 7 ft artificial tree at a garage sale. I think this will be our fifth year using it. And, although I would prefer to cut down a real one, or even pick one up that's already cut, this one turns our beautifully each year, so I can't complain.

going to spend time with my great niece SHianne and great Nephew Krystian on the 7th. I am spending the night.I think we are gonna call Santa Claus. and write him letters that night. I am taking my camera so I can get pics of them. I want to use Pictures of the greats as gift tags for next year. (Like the girl in the Overstock.com commercial) I think it will be neat. Plus I am going to do scrapbook pages on each of my greats for great gramma(my mom) for christmas. Then on the 8th I am going to go see John (another great) and his new brother Aiden Wyatt (I am dying to hold him for the first time) after that I am going to do some CHristmas shopping with mom. before dad brings me home. Full two days for me. :christmastree:

Actually Bobbi, no one should be advertising websites on here. It's one thing to post a site that users may want to check out for Christmas gifts or letters to Santa for example, but no users should be trying to advertise their own site for profit purposes. If you see any spam users or postings, please report the post. You can do this easily by clicking on the red and white triangle with an exclamation point (!) in it. It's located in the blue bar at the top of each post on the right.

I am going out shopping again on tuesday probably the last time before CHristmas. I need to get canned dog food $3.23, Maxine Calendar $7.00, dog biscuits $4.34, and another fragrance set $6.00. I am going to try to borrow $25.00 from Bruce until January. If I can then I will pick up some Meatballs for CHristmas and more fruit for stockings. and a bag of mixed nuts $4.99! :tree::christmastree::presents2:presents

I am not crazy about the Polar express! It was a let down to me.

You know I have still yet to see that entire movie...I always catch only parts of it whenever it's on TV. We bought it last year, but haven't watched it yet. The one that I showed the students yesterday was a little film based on the book by Chris Van Alsburg (http://www.chrisvanallsburg.com/flash.html). It was like 12 minutes long and was only the story and pictures from the book.

Finally finished my shopping got everything except the dog biscuits walmart was out of the bags we usually buy but they have enough to do them until January. I bought them a 12 pack of food instead of a 6 pack. I am working on getting the presents all put under the tree or should I say around the tree. Mom's gift basket and dad's are wrapped and too big to put out before CHristmas Eve so they will stay in the guest room.

The right church makes all the difference. If you struggle going every week then that church is not for you. If you can't wait for the service then you are in the right place.

I am getting excited about getting started on my slimfast. I am hoping to have 10 pounds off before weigh in on Febrauary 26th. But I know it is going to take will power when it comes time to get groceries. I am going to shop for a week at a time. getting me fruits and veggies for my snacks. and we are going to have light meals at dinner time. Instead of making a pound of speghetti at a time I will make half that! and we can have half as much of the other meals I make. I am determined and I hope you all will help keep me in line too!

Donna-50
01-02-2009, 10:50 PM
Slimfast isn't very healthy. I would suggest limit your food intake and exercise. Walking does wonders for the body and mind. I have been walking everyday even when I don't want to. It does wonders when you are under stress.

onemagicalchristmas

thanks I need it. I went to bed hungry last night and asked God if I shouldn't just do the diabetic diet and put the slimfast money on fruits or veggies each week! I will know in a few days how it is going and whether I will continue to do it on slimfast. I hate going to bed hungry! and on the diabetic diet I can have all the veggies I want and three pieces of fruit a day just limited starches and pasta!

Donna-50
01-04-2009, 02:21 PM
Diets don't work. You need to do a life style change. Everyone I know that did slimfast gained it all back and some. You need to eat things that are good for you in smaller quantities for it to last. Exercise is also important and it could be just walking every day where you want to or not. After awhile you look forward to your walking because it also relieves stress.

onemagicalchristmas
01-04-2009, 03:57 PM
my mom ordered me two walking dvds so I can walk inside on cold and rainy days. I have been letting my dogs roam wherever they want to outside Buddy will keep me moving about 15 minutes each time out! so I am getting my exercise and I am drinking 4-5 20oz bottles of water a day. and limiting my diet sodas. I froze all my chocolate from christmas. Because as long as I have it on hand I don't crave it! I also snack on veggies! I am just staying hungry even during the day on slimfast. chewing gum helps out a little and filling up on water keeps me running but I am just a little concerned that I am cutting my self short on calaries and not having the proper food in the house don't help. I can use my foodstamps next saturday. I am going to buy me some more fruits and veggies to eat. I can be satisfied with bagels and yogurt for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch along with veggies so I am thinking of using slimfast as snacks or going completely off it!

Then we had to go to the COnover Walmart to pick up hubbys meds. He went to the drs today. and I bouht me a Diet 7 UP! I have had three 20 bottles of soda since the 1st of the year! about one a week. Two of which were regular (Bad Girl!) but I have lost 6 pounds in the short time I have been dieting. I am counting calories now instead of carbs. I was fine today until 3pm I had a cup of homemade gumbo and I am not sure how many calories were in it! bu tonight is speghetti night so I know I will be over my calories. but I only have speghetti three times during the month.

I am doing better on my diet since giving up slimfast. I am trying to keep myself to 1800-2000 calories a day. tonight will be a challenge for me though I am making speghetti and meat balls. My favorite. for me it is hard to stop at one cup though. we will see how it goes!

I'm not Bob but my daughter moved to CA from FL and she likes Disney World. She said DL is old dirtier. Not at all like she expected.

I finally broke down and order a new sofa and love seat. Put down my down payment. The next day the washer broke. I had already had it fixed about 13 months before. Decided to get a new one.

Got my new furniture today and now every else looks so old. Oh well. Need to save up more money before I can complete the room. Always something.

I never had the urge to go to Disney Land. But I couldn't tell if I was just partial because I've grown up with Disney World or if it was because of things I'd heard. CA doesn't have Epcot, right? I'm very fond of Epcot. :)

I'm surprised anything "Disney" is allowed to get old and dirty. They always had high standards (not to mention the amount of money they take in and how they save on employee salaries).

Sorry to reply to this so late...I really enjoyed Disneyland, but Walt Disney World is still my favorite! :D There are things I like differently about both; like I enjoyed how close everything was in Disneyland. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and could walk to Disneyland Park, Disneyland California Adventure, and Downtown Disney each day, which is a lot better than driving to each park like at WDW. There's just something about the entire WDW Resort in FL though that I like better. Maybe it's because I've been there so much so it feels more like "home". It's nice to have 4 parks to go to rather than only 2 though.

Anyone else been to both DL and WDW? What are yoru thoughts?

I think those of us who have been to WDW only or first will prefer it to DL. DL was great and did not seem old or dirty to me at all, but it's not WDW.

I'm glad we went to DL...It was nice seeing Walt's original park and I enjoyed admiring all of the magic and wonder that is Disney. It was fun to think that I was where Walt Disney himself started it all.

And you're right, DL does not have Epcot. DL Park is like the Magic Kingdom at WDW and DL CA Adventure is like Disney Hollywood Studios at WDW.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm glad it didn't seem old or dirty. I agree that being where it all started would be something to experience. I thought there might be something special there, since it was the original- something they didn't have at WDW. Is their Magic Kingdom pretty much identical to WDW's (rides and everything)?

For the most part it's the same...They have all the "lands" (Fantasyland, Adventureland, etc) and most of the same rides. DL has The Matterhorn, which was fun and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, which I love and was so sad when they closed the one in WDW! :sad elf: It was so crowded that I realyl didn't get to enjoy Main Street, USA or Sleeping Beauty Castle, both of which I was really excited about seeing.

I guess you could call it that...We have three "campuses" here in Charlotte (two at high schools and one at a theater). Our Pastor videotapes the first service of the day and it's played at whichever campus and time he doesn't preach live at. We got a lot of our ideas from LifeChurch.TV (http://www.lifechurch.tv) out of Oklahoma.

That must be a popular pastor (or do they not have enough clergy to do all the services?). I've never heard of "campuses", or several locations for one church/parish,etc. Are those locations in addition to an actual church building, or instead of?

I was raised Catholic, but I'm currently going to an American Baptist church.

Approximately how many people go to a service of yours? The church I'm going to now is very small- there were 14 people there last Sunday.

Pastor Steven (http://www.stevenfurtick.com/) is our lead pastor and coincidently, our only pastor who preaches God's Word each week. We have other "campus pastors", but Pastor Steven is the only priest I guess you could say.

Yeah, I wasn't very familiar with a church having several campuses either, but it works out nicely. It's a great way to reach more people in our city...We bring the church to those who won't drive out to a set location. We will, however, have a permanent building this fall. We were able to purchase an old furniture company's warehouse and are outfitting the inside of it to house a sanctuary, nursery/children's area, offices for staff, and who knows what else. Exciting stuff! :yahoo: We'll keep two of our "mobile" campuses and may even add others in the future.

On any Sunday we have close to 3,000 people attend Elevation between the 3 campuses!!!! At the campus my wife and I attend and volunteer at we have about 1500.

Check out the links I've posted in my other replies if you haven't already. All of the sermons are online so you can get a feel of how we do church at Elevation. :D
