That sounds bad, Olga. In which line of work are you? Here the economy sucks too.
I feel a bit sad today. I just need to get myself together.

Sorry you are sad but hopefully you are out of the sadness today.
I am excited because I will be going on a Disney vacation Saturday for a week. Haven't really been on vacation in 10 years, but the best part is my daughter and grandchildren are meeting us there. They are in CA now for a little over 1 1/2 years so I haven't seen them since they left.:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I work for an editorial house.
Its funny, considering most of my friends are unemployed. Can you believe it?
I think that there's always gonna be a ''financial crisis''...

I hope the highlight of the crisis will be behind us in 2011, like a lot of the analysts say. I hope you will find a new position soon, despite the little job openings in Greece. Do you actually work as an editor? For books or magazines?

Good luck with your job, Olga! I was scheduled to be on vacation last week (just taking time off) and the week before I was laid off except for a few hours one day a week. Kind of makes the vacation unnecessary.

That really stinks, thinking you are going to be on vacation and then you get more vacation than you need.

Iam thinking of you..think positive..
I feel sad :crying:that Christmas is over but I think that if Christmas would last for ever, then, how would it be possible for us to be happy every day, all year long?
Maybe, we all feel depressed when Holidays are over, but lets think that we have all the time to be prepared for next Christmas..
We can spend some of our time making handmade Christmas things, organise our Christmas music, search for new songs we may do not have, talk about Christmas with friends, get new ideas for Christmas recipes and decoration, writing to our blog or site about Holidays all over the world and be ready for next Christmas!! All these need time..
Im doing that every year and I do not miss Christmas!! (ok, maybe a little..) :kinky elf:
But, when November comes... I cant stand any more.. Tree is up!!! :elf1:
I do not know if Ive helped, but the only thing I know is that we have to thank God for this wonderful Holiday and be ..... ready to put the tree up again the soonest possible!!!

I agree. There are still a few houses in the neighborhood that have the lights on and even one or two trees are still up. But soon it will be another holiday for which the stores are already stocking merchandise - Valentine's Day.

People do not go as crazy as they do for Christmas and much less people decorate for Valentine's day. Yet lately, more and more people are decorating. Yesterday I saw three houses in a row with illuminated hearts and red lights outside their homes! I only decorate sparingly inside and nothing outside!

I think that all people always need something to wait for, thats why, in every occasion, we like decorating. It makes us happy. At least thats how I see it..
And in my country, all stores will be decorated for Valentines Day, just not houses.. I think that stores just want to sell, so, this is a great opportunity to bring people in.

I remember as a child my Mom would put up paper hearts, candles and so on - inside the house. That seems to have been what many people did. It's only in the last 5 years or so that people have started decorating with outside lights! It does tend to be the same people who go all out for Christmas!
Isnt a little funny to decorate the house outside with red lights ???

I like Easter too. Just not as much as Christmas, as in Easter I dont get that happy as I get with Christmas.
Easter in Greece is the most important annual religious feast and people take very seriously that fest.
The only day people are happy is Sunday where Jesus is resurrected from the dead and a big eating / drinking thing is starting and lasts for 2 days.
In Great Week, we gather in church every evening throughout Holy Week and its a very sad week..
Honestly, Im always feeling very sad those days. :sad elf:

I think the worst months of the year is Jan / Feb / March.. Oh, dear, I can not stand them..
I'm surprised- didn't you think the summer was too hot there? And if it's 16c now with sun, that doesn't sound too shabby. :elf3:
Summer, here, is something I really can not do a thing.. :elf2:
Temps of 40 and 45c make me scream, but Im used to it...
All I do, is taking a month off work and go for summer vacations..And thats my best time ever..
The other two hot months, Im just praying to be over, soon, or just staying home, where there is aircondition.. But it is so unhealty to live 3 months breathing it..
Of course, I hate that, as 2 years ago I was infected by a bacterium from aircondition at work, because they do not clean airconditions.. Μeningitis was named my sickness and that was the worst year in my life...
So, really, I love summer, just only for vacations..
Sometimes I just wish I lived in a cooler country. :snowman:
Whats your summer like, Mistleotoe?
