Just feeling terrible tonight I rescued a dog from a family friend and thn had to give her up because my Sassi would nt except her into the family. I thought I could push the issue but Sassi kept going after Vegas. I tried t find her a home but noone replied back. I hate myself for giving her up.

It has been a bad week for me!

I have been reading alot lately and have not been around much but I will try to check in at least once a week. I am just not coping well with life right now. First I was off my meds for a month then the dog and now I am just acing the blues in general. I wanted to be able to get my parents something for easter but I may not have the funds to do that. I am going to get my dogs each a boiled egg and can os viennas sausages and a hostess cupcake. I can use foodstamps for that. I also promised hubby he could get some butter cream eggs that Palmer chocolates make. I found them at walmarts and then he found them at the dollar tree!

I am also thinking about buying a turkey to bake for my dad's birthday on the 30th of this month. He said he wasn't going to celebrate his birthday anymore but I saw a turkey and decided I would get one and fix it for him.

Bobbi, I know it's hard to give up a dog, especially after you rescued it...My wife and I did the same thing a few years ago. You did your part though and now all you can do is continue to pray that Vegas' life will be happy and healthy. :my lord:

I hope you perk up soon and shake these blues. Just remember, Easter Sunday is quickly approaching and what a wonderful day it will be to celebrate our Lord's victory over death!!!!

Yep, my wife's grandparents had a fig tree in their front yard. Whenever we'd visit I'd have to walk the yard with her late grandfather, admiring his landscaping. We'd always finish at the fig tree and pick fresh figs to enjoy. They were nice.

I agree! And you know what song is perfect for days like that?

I never knew the charm of spring
I never met it face to face
I never new my heart could sing
I never missed a warm embrace

Till April in Paris, chestnuts in blossom
Holiday tables under the trees
April in Paris, this is a feeling
That no one can ever reprise

I never knew the charm of spring
I never met it face to face
I never new my heart could sing
I never missed a warm embrace

Till April in Paris
Whom can I run to
What have you done to my heart

Whom can I run to
What have you done to my heart

Truly, Bob, it is time.

Speaking of rings (in your Shakespeare quote), my other sister's boyfriend had all the sisters go to help him ring shop this morning. It was hard! Even with it narrowed down to the shape and type! He's going to make a great brother-in-law. :)

I am just tired of all the health problems I keep getting. If it is not my diabetes, IBS it is something else. I was truly shocked about them finding blood clots again. I thought I was having a heart attack. This will keep me in tight with the Lord. The church weplanned on visiting sentsomeone over to talk to us. The family was so nice. I just got in from my doctors visit and shopping with mom. I was not to be shopping and that totally wiped me out. Ready for a nap! But at the doctors office my INR was 2.4 today so he took m off the Lovenox. I am glad it was scary having to give myself shots in the tummy. He told me to bring in my used needles and the left over lovenox for disposal on my next appointment . Which is next monday. His office people are not very informed about my illness but he said the minute I was admitted to the hospital he recieved reports about my care. Mom went with me and asked him to put me on something for water retention and he said not right now. But the bad news is that I will have to see a hematologist/oncoligist in a yea to decide the next course of action. He wants me to lose 30 to 40 pounds! No surprise there. I have been trying but now it is important to do so.

So please continue to pray for me!

I know, but please don't think we're blowing all kinds of $$$ on these trips. My wife and I just happen to be Disney Vacation Club members so we have to use our "points" within a certain time period. We really shouldn't be going, but we don't want to lose our points. So, gas and food for the trip will be put on our Disney Visa...Not the best thing to do, however, it does give us Disney Rewards each time we use it! :D

I'm thinking I'd like to look into traveling by train next time I go down (instead of flying). I find that I'm very fond of trains. My family and I just went on a dinner train- a revamped steam engine from the 30's. It was romantic (probably because of all the old movies I relate to it). They played old music and the staff was very friendly. So, we ate while looking at the passing scenery. It made me wish it had a sleeper car on it. :)

Thanks, I will check the link in the morning. I have been to Disney more times than I can count but not in the last 10 years.. Only went one day last year. This is the first time I am staying at one of their resorts and my teens loved the look of Pop and it is a value. Can't get any better than that. Trying to pick places to eat the table sittings is hard because how do you know what you are going to be in the mood for so we are doing mostly character meals. Don't know if I will do the meal packages anymore. Find it easier to wing it as we don't usually do many of the table service meals.

How fun! We stayed on the grounds for the first time the last time we went- I liked it alot. I liked being connected by monorail to everything. We were at the Grand Floridian- we picked that one because I believe it was the most expensive and my sister was doing an internship for Disney, so got us a discount. We'd never be able to stay there without it, so we figured we should experience it while we could. From our balcony we could see Cinderella's castle- it changed colors all through the night. :smitten:

Donna, are you a Disney Vacation Club member? If not, it's definitely something you and your family should look into. My wife and I joined DVC last September and we've already been to Disneyland, Saratoga Springs Resort in WDW, and are going back to WDW to stay at Animal Kingdom Kidani Village this October. It's well worth it...Let me know if you want more info! :D

We've never done a meal plan bc we don't always do table service meals either. I'd rather eat breakfast and lunch at a quick service place and have dinner at a nicer table service place. Where are ya'll going in August? All four parks? Have you ever eaten at Cinderella's Royal Table? A friend told me we really need to eat there in October, but I don't know if I'd be able to get reservations this late.

I will look into the DVC membership. Haven't been to Disney for years except for one day last year. My DH is disabled and I have to make arrangements for someone to take care of him so this will be our first real vacation in 10 years.

Haven't been to Cinderella's Royal Table but we do have reservations for the day we will be at MK. We are going to do all 4 parks this time. I've never been to AK and looking forward to it.

We will be staying for 7 nights and only want to do the parks for 4 days. The other days I figured we can relax a little and go to Down Town Disney and the Boardwalk. We are also going to eat at 1900 house. Mostly character meals this time, except we are going to Boma because I heard that is very good.

Should be fun and I have started walking to get in shape for all the walking. I have teens and they also want to go from one side to the other all day long. I think I will stick with my grandchildren.

The Grand Floridian is super nice! I've never stayed there bc of the price, but we hope to sometime in the future now that we're DVC Members and can use our points to stay at Disney resorts. :D I'd love to see Cinderella's Castle change colors from my room! And I agree, it's fun going with a lot of family...We're going with my parents, sister and brother, and their significant others this October and we can't wait!!!! :yahoo:

You know, I don't recall it being magnificent or anything (maybe my memory is foggy- it was 6 years ago). It was nice, but it wasn't as if everything there were included in the price. The room was just a room (with Disney accents) and was in a separate building than the main hotel part (which was pretty and had stores and restaurants, etc.) It could have been because we went in January and it was a bit cold, so we didn't do anything outside there except the hot tub. I don't really have an itch to go back there. Maybe I'll feel differently after trying out the others. :)
Seeing the castle at night was delightful, though. And being just across the river from the Magic Kingdom...

I think I'll look into the Disney Vacation Club. I have their credit card and they're always sending me things about it, but I've never really read up on it.

You'll have to tell me about the Animal Kingdom hotel when you get back. That's where the animals can come right near the place, right?

You really should! Especially if you're big Disney fans and go on a vacation (to anywhere, not just DL or WDW) a couple times a year. Not only does it allow you to stay at Disney resorts (like Grand Floridian, POP Century, Boardwalk, Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom Villas, etc) but you can also exchange your "points" to stay at hotels around the world! :jumping: Can you tell how much we love it?! :D

Check out the Disney Vacation Club (http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index)site to read more info and/or order a DVD...Or let me know and I can get our DVC representative to send you info. :jack:

And Kerith, you already know about the great discounts and rewards you can get with the Disney Visa...Well, DVC Members get special discounts at the parks, resorts and more! Plus there are a number of "Member Perks" and special events for DVC Members only. :D

Well it sounds like you deserve this! And what a place to go for vacation! :D

Where are you eating at the MK? When my wife and I were there back in 2003 we had reservations for the Crystal Palace, which turned out to be great bc as we were in the top of the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse it started pouring (as it does so often in FL) and everyone started fleeing to the restaurants...So, as others were stuck outside waiting on a table we were inside getting dry and even got a chance to dine with Winnie the Pooh and friends. :)

AK is so much fun! We can't wait to take our son bc he loves animals...I know he'll love seeing all of the elephants and giraffes.

There's a lot to do at Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk. My wife and I took the ferry from Saratoga Springs over to DTD a number of times while we were down the other weekend. We had dinner at Raglan Road, the Irish pub and it was delicious! We really wanted to take a ride on the Characters in Flight balloon, but everytime we were there it was either closed due to rain or high winds. Maybe next time...DisneyQuest (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/downtown-disney/entertainment/disney-quest-indoor-interactive-theme-park/) would be a lot of fun for your grandchildren. It's basically a giant 5 story video arcade. My wife and I spent a few hours there, but it wasn't much for us. We had fun, but I think teenagers and kids would have the most fun.

Please tell me to stop if I'm being too much of a Disney fanatic... :p I get so excited about it sometimes that I don't know when to stop! :santahat: I have other tips if you care to hear more; mostly about places to eat and things to do.

Hmmm, maybe it was bc of the time of year...I know we really enjoyed walking around Saratoga Springs while we were there; exploring the grounds, enjoying the pools (and the poolside bars), eating, shopping, etc. Oh I love all of the Disney accents! They always do such a great job with theming. :jack:

Yes, the Animal Kingdom Lodge has it's own savannahs which are right behind the resort. Giraffes, Zebras and other animals can walk right up close to your balcony, which would be a nice view in the morning as well!

You know what, I never uploaded any photos of our trip to DL onto here did I? And I definitely haven't uploaded any from Saratoga Springs...I need to get busy!

This is where we decided to eat and I have never been to any. When at MK we will be doing the Cinderella Royal Table but we could only get dinner. When we are at AK we are going to the Tusker House Character Breakfast and Boma for dinner. When we are at Hollywood Studios we are going to try the SciFi for dinner. I see it doesn't get that good of reviews but it looks cool. On one of the days of rest we are going to go to 1900 house for breakfast so the little ones should enjoy that and the other free day we will be doing Chef Mickey.

I do play to go to DTD and go to Wolfgang Puck Express and on the way home we will try out Earl sandwiches because I here they are real good.

I have started walking the dog for longer walks as I need to get in shape and he could loose a few pounds also. When I get home I plan to crash on the sofa for the rest of the weekend. When ever you go to disney you always need a vacation from your vacation.

It's a challenge to come up with a diverse menu of healthy food that tastes good. And even harder on a budget (wasn't all the refined food once considered only for the wealthy?). I hit creative blocks, where I find something I like, have it until I get sick of it and then necessity forces me to come up with another combination. :santahat:

I also have no patience for involved recipes. It's a good thing steaming is a quick process. Good luck with your class- I hope it inspires you!

Devil's Waltz by Jonathan Kellerman.

He writes very clever psychological thrillers which I enjoy immensly. I collect the serie(in pocketsize) which features Alex Delaware as the main character. This was my 12th Delaware novel.
