Need Some Advice - Decorating Santa's Grotto

Hello everyone, This saturday is my local scout groups christmas fayre.
I have been put in charge in decorating santa's grotta.
Im after some ideas though because the room i have to use isnt exactly ideal. Its a store room which has quite a few things in there which cant be moved such as metal cuboards and stacks of chairs etc.
Im after ideas of things to cover the floor with and im after things i can use to discuise the cubards etc.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Could you take a photo of the room for us and post it? Then we could really get a good idea of what it looks like. The first thing I thought of when imagining the room myself with cupboards and chairs would be to wrap them with gift wrap so they look like packages. presents Or perhaps drapping snow or white material over them. :snowman: Lights can always be hung up on the cupboards too. Let us know if you can post pics! :gelf:

I would also wrap the cupboards and things up to look like presents. It's easy, festive and cheap! It will also make it easy to take down when you are done. I live in a small condo, and rather than bring all my decoration boxes back down to the storage room, I wrap them up like presents and put them under the tree. It saves me a trip, and I know where all my boxes are when I take the tree down.

That is a great idea! I never thought of that...It would save me multiple trips back up into the attic. ;)

that is an excellent idea. I wrap extra boxes and use them as decorations. I knew a lady I worked with years ago that would wrap her pictures on the walls as gifts and made her house look festive. I am still looking for vinyl clings for the bottom half of my front screen door and the huge mirror in my bathroom. I guess I will look at Kmart and walmart tomorrow when I go out!:santahat:
