Hi all,

Does anyione actually ignore all the family and presents thing and just go off on holiday at Xmas?

It's not really a well known thing here in Scotland - just wondered if it is elsewhere?

Cheers

I know people who do this. I can't. That is actually one of my favorite parts of Christmas, seeing my family. Although most of us all live within 100 miles of each other, we only get together a few times a year, sad really.

I know how you feel, it's the same for me and my wife. We stay a 5 minute walk from her sister but we don't see that much of them. It's just the modern day lifestyle. I work full time close to Glasgow so we don't have as much time. You know how it is.

I get together with the family I have in NC with me several times a year but not as often for those who still live in OHio. But I would rather be home for the holidays rather than in a hotel room anytime.

Not us, we're always around family for the holidays. This year, however, my wife and I are headed to Disneyland on December 27!!!! :D We'll be there through New Year's and come back on January 2. :blowing: This is something we would not normally do, but are able to this year thanks to the Disney Vacation Club (http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index)!

For me Christmas equals family too. I was just thinking I am probably a bit too old fashioned, but it seems that most of you here agree with me :-)

I once went on a trip with the whole family on Christmas, it was a great experience!
