My family is full of word-game players. We've always had crossword puzzle books around. We play Boggle. We play Scrabble. As children, we had Scrabble Jr. I've recently be reintroduced to this game through a neighbor's children. And I think its ideal for Christmas as well.
The gameis designed for two to four players. The game board is two-sided. One side is ideal for prereaders - for children who are just learning their letters or word formation. On this side of the board, the words are already spelled out. The child matches letter tiles to the letters already on the board to make the word shown. The words are common words such as sun, ball and eggs. There is also a wildlife version of Scrabble Jr. with a more environment based theme.

Scene It? is a lot of fun, as well as the classics: Mon opoly and Life, but with a twist like Mon opoly: Disney Edition or Pirates of the Caribbean Game of Life.

My kids still prefer good old Monopoly, the original version. And it's one I prefer too, I find so many of the modern games are extremely boring for adults.

How old are the kids that you are getting the games for? If they're slightly older I'd really suggest scatergories...most entertaining game I've ever played. For little kids the classic Operation game is still a good choice.

I guess it depends on the age, really. I always loved Monopoly and Scrabble. My niece is constantly playing Connect 4 - that's another classic. :)

Im helping lil ethan to build his first wish list. So far Ive got a few. Anymore ideas other than toys and wearables? Got him his first tricycle on his second birthday. Quite recent. Perhaps something more educational? He tore up all the books Ive bought him all this while. So books are not so good at the moment. Any ideas? Thanks and happy christmas.

I know with my smaller grandchildren, "Webkinz" are what they want. They like to get new Webkinz and then they register them online (they come with a code) and they can do all sorts of things on the website with their Webkinz.
They also can earn Webkinz money and buy things for their Webkinz pets, so it's fun and educational.
By the way, the Webkinz are cute, they have dogs, cats, fish, monkeys and all sorts of animals.

Hi,
I think Chess and monopoly games are best for children as they can enjoy the game and as well as they can improve their thinking ability and keep the children active. Any way for any help regarding seo service i.e. website promotion please feel free to contact me.

Those game board ideas are great! I'm going for inexpensive stuff that is personalized. It will be a great gift for the person and make them feel like you really thought of them (and you should), but help save the bank during these hard times.
Even something like an initials embroidered towel, bathrobe, etc.. would work.

I think such a great gift for younger kids is a Shining Stars World membership...your child gets to name two stars in the sky that are uniquely their own, and then they get 2 shining stars pets, which they name, give personality traits to and then explore the web world of Shining Stars; where they can play games, earn glow points, and build their own star world! I purchased them for my niece and nephew last year and they thought it was the coolest gift ever!! I totally recommend checking it out!

The xmas-themed monopoly games seem really cool to me, too.
I love giving board games.
I was at my cousin's place a few weeks ago and the whole family was playing Pictionary. So much fun. I was thinking of what to get for his kids and I found the new Pictionary Man game - it's just like Pictionary, except you draw on a little doll: Pictionary Man Website (http://www.letsplaypictionaryman.com)
"Perfect for them", I thought, hehe. :)
