DEBORAH'S COMPUTER CRAFTS

NOTES: If you plan on using your computer for a lot of Holiday gifts and projects, I suggest investing in a tabletop paper cutter. You can find them for approximately 30.00 at most office supply stores. Also, when printing out photographs, I have found that smooth, heavy cardstock works almost as well as photo paper -- at a much more reasonable price.

You will need some type of graphics or desktop publishing software for the following computer crafts. Printmaster was used for the projects featured here.

FUN PHOTOS

Simply scan in a favorite photograph, duplicate it, and using graphics software adjust the color of the photo. Select a fun font (thicker letters will be more legible) and place a caption or heading on the photo. Print out, cut and frame.

TIP: Visit 1001FreeFonts to find a wacky or decorative font.

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Here's an easy and fun gift with endless possibilities: Gift Certificates for babysitting, back rubs, dinner and a movie, and so on. This is a wonderful gift children can make for relatives. Short on time? Visit our Printables section for ready-to-print GCs!

NOTE CARDS
note cards

A set of beautiful notecards is an easy and fun gift to make. Print two cards per page (8 1/2 x 11), cut the page in half and fold. Create a set of 10 cards. Invitation envelopes (4 3/8 x 5 3/4) are the perfect fit for these and can be found at most major discount stores and office supply stores. Cut a piece of sturdy cardboard to 4 3/8 x 5 3/4 (the same size as the envelopes) and cover it with gift wrap. Stack the notecards on top of the envelopes and place the set atop the cardboard. Tie together with a pretty ribbon and you're done!

TIP: You can find wonderful graphics on the Internet. You can find beautiful images at sites such as Art.com.
